Almond Shape Nail Spam

Back in December of last year, the corners of my nails would Not. Stop. Breaking.  So I took the plunge and filed away all the corners of my nails until I got a nice almond shape.  They started off short but then grew out to be pretty long and pointy, almost stiletto-like.  I really loved how slender and elongated they made my hands, and it was an edgy look that I enjoyed sporting.  Edgy and classy at the same time, now that's my type of style. I decided to end the shape when I could not stop stabbing myself with them.  It was a fun try of a shape I had never done before, and I have some great pictures from the experience!

Silver, Gold, and Black

This was my first attempt at the almond nail shape, as you can see they are the shortest out of all the pictures.  I wore these on New Year's Eve. I first painted my whole nail with Sephora by OPI Looks Like Rain, Dear.  At first I wasn't so sure if I would like this color because I prefer less yellow golds, but on I freaking LOVE it, it has holographic glitter which makes it super flashy! I then used Wet N Wild Wild Shine Black Creme and free-handed the black tips.  Last I used L.A. Colors Art Deco in Silver Glitter and striped on the silver, and a top coat.  Pretty easy to do with a wonderful result, I got tons of complements.  I bought the ring at New York and Company.

Red, Black, and Silver with Rhinestones

I wore these nails in January on a trip to Las Vegas. Excuse me for the blurry picture. I used Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor in Kourt is Red-y For a Pedi, Wet N Wild Wild Shine Black Creme for the half moons and striped on the silver using L.A. Colors Art Deco in Silver Glitter.  I put top coat on first and then used nail glue to attach the silver and black rhinestones, otherwise the top coat would have dulled the stones.  Unfortunately they kept falling off, so I was carrying nail glue in my purse the whole trip!

Red Hearts

I wore these nails on...you guessed it, Valentine's Day.  For the base red I used Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor in Kourt is Red-y For a Pedi, and for the hearts I free-handed them with OPI I Don't Do Dishes! using the same brush from the polish bottle. Shown with top coat.

Artificial Lighting

These were my nails at their longest, as you can see they were getting very pointy (and bothersome).  These photos do not do justice at how utterly amazing OPI Liquid Sand in Jinx is!  Jinx is a fiery reddish coral textured polish with tons of gold shimmer. This is shown without top coat. Later I ended up putting a top coat on, just to see what it would look like. MIND=BLOWN. Even more sparkly and flashy!
