Random Zig Zag Striping Tape Mani

Indirect Sunlight
This was my first time using striping tape and I have to say it was really easy and fun!  I first painted my nails with Essie Feed Me base coat, then two coats of Zoya Hudson, then applied HK Girl top coat and allowed to dry pretty well, about 20-30 minutes.  I then cut 40 strips of striping tape so I would have 4 lines per nail.  I took the tape and randomly stuck them on, taping all 5 fingers of one hand.

I then used one coat of Nicole by OPI / Selena Gomez Pretty in Plum and did one nail at a time, removed the tape with tweezers, then moved on to the next nail.  The trick is to remove the tape immediately after painting so that you get clean lines, otherwise the polish will dry and you will lift areas close to the tape.  I then finished it off with another coat of HK Girl.

I found Pretty in Plum on sale at TJ Maxx, it is a stunning reddish purple with a magenta shimmer that just glows in the light, such gorgeous depth it has! I'm so glad I picked it up because it has easily become one of my favorites.

Thanks to the glorious 3-day weekend, I had some extra time yesterday and decided to take the 30 minute drive to Ikea to pick up...a HELMER! :D  Very excite!!! More on that to come in the near future.
