Sparkly Purple Nails with Cute Bow Charm

Sparkly Purple Nails with Cute Bow Charm

Why helloooooooo friends...long time no see! I'm back from a long break, did you miss me? :)

I think it was well needed, because sometimes life gets in the way and you get burnt out from doing the same thing.

I think from this point on I am going to try to stop forcing myself to do nails so! different! every time and just go with what I feel like wearing at the time.

I would hate to be a blogger that doesn't even get to wear their nail polish...because, although I have mad respect for all the amazing swatchers and artists out there, I personally want to enjoy wearing my mani for a while and have matching hands in real life and in public.

Because actually wearing nail polish is AWESOME.

Sparkly Purple Nails with Cute Bow Charm

So here is my Awesome Wearable Mani of the Day!

I am wearing Sally Hansen Pep-Plum, a gorgeous orchid creme, which I topped with China Glaze Fairy Dust, and then added a cute bow charm on my ring fingers which I received as a gift from my friend.

Aaaand that's pretty much it! Short and sweet and easy, so expect more of these kinds of posts, I'm going to practice being less wordy :D

KBShimmer Peak My Interest Swatches

KBShimmer Peak My Interest Swatches

Quick post today: KBShimmer Peak My Interest is described as a pink polish with a coral undertone, featuring triangle glitters in white, pink and dark aqua. Hex glitters in periwinkle, white and dark aqua complete this polish.

I think I used 3 or 4 coats so next time I think I would paint it on top of a creme to have less layers.

KBShimmer Peak My Interest Swatches

For some reason I am obsessed with triangles, which is why I jumped on this unique polish.  I really like pointy things haha, especially jewelry. What is your favorite shape?

Orly Mirrorball Swatches

Orly Mirrorball Swatches

Today's mani is from a while back, which I ended up stamping over. I found some pictures of the base color, Orly Mirrorball, by itself, and because it is such a gorgeous polish I had to share some swatches!

I don't normally like silver polishes but a lot of people said the same thing and really liked this polish anyway so I said what the hell I have 320834 polishes anyway what's another one. And just like everyone else I LOVE IT.  I think for me it is due to the glorious warm holo glow as shown the above pic, the orangey golden tones really come out in the linear holographic edges.

I also got a blurry shot to show the amazing holo glitter in action.  Just awesome. Have you gotten your hands on Mirrorball yet?

Milani Color Statement Peri-Wink with BPS Lace Sticker Decals

Milani Color Statement Peri-Wink with BPS Lace Decals

Have you ever seen that Just Fab commercial (a shoe subscription service) where the girl says,
"Do you really need so many blue? But they're NOT blue! They're teal, cobalt, navy, periwinkle! You don't have periwinkle! YOU NEED PERIWINKLE."
I had a periwinkle moment recently too, realizing that I do not own any creme periwinkle polish. I NEED CREME PERIWINKLE POLISH.

After much browsing in CVS, I finally decided on Milani Color Statement in Peri-Wink, and I just LOVE it. It actually has some faint shimmer in there, but I had a feeling this would appear as a creme on the nail, which it did and I was happy I predicted correctly :)

Milani Color Statement Peri-Wink with BPS Lace Decals

I then added Born Pretty Store's Lace Sticker Decals (press sample) on my middle and ring finger. There are several design sets to choose from, and each set comes with several long strips in 2 different sizes.  I am wearing the wider size.  I first cut the strip into pieces larger than my nail, lined them up on the nail with tweezers, and once I liked the placement I used my finger to press the sticker smooth. I then took cuticle nippers and trimmed the excess off the sides.

My pictures are shown without top coat, but I will warn you now, you will need a LOT of top cot to keep these suckers down. Since they are stickers they are much thicker than the water decals that I am used to. This is actually my second try using these decals, I had a nail fail using one regular coat of polish, the edges were peeling up like crazy. So be forewarned, I like them now after using THREE coats of HK Girl (my thickest top coat), but at first I was sad and hated them.

In addition, if you have a large C-curve you may experience the sticker buckling / folding near the edge. It happened to me on my ring finger, but I just took my nippers and cut away the part that was sticking up and added more top coat, and you can't even tell.

What do you think of these, or the color periwinkle?

KBShimmer Pink-a Colada Swatches

KBShimmer Pink-a Colada Swatches

Today I have a beautiful polish, from one of my favorite brands KBShimmer. It is called Pink-a Colada and it is a gorgeous magenta crelly filled with purple, green, and blue glitters of various sizes, and a ton of tiny silver glitter.

KBShimmer Pink-a Colada Swatches

I did three coats here as this polish is a bit sheer, which makes it so squishy!

KBShimmer Pink-a Colada Swatches

I am obsessed with glitter crellies because they are nail art on their own.  But they are a bitch to remove *sad face* so I will be doing more and more stamping for a bit while I recover from my "blog flu" (ie I'm getting sick of it atm). I think taking less time to remove my polish will help me change it more and have more manis for the blog, so wish me luck as I put my pretty glitters aside and make room for stamping :)

Hits Mari Moon So Unique with BPS Zebra Nail Vinyls

Hits Mari Moon So Unique with BPS Zebra Striped Nail Vinyls

I have some awesome holo and neutral zebra nails for you today! The base polish I am wearing is the fabulous Hits Mari Moon in So Unique, one of the best red to purple scattered holo duochrome polishes everrrr.

Hits Mari Moon So Unique with BPS Zebra Striped Nail Vinyls

My camera captured a lot of blue in this polish, but IRL there is little blue and mostly red and purple, as shown on my nails in the above pic. And if my nails were as round as the bottle shot below I might have seen even more awesome colors like gold and burnt orange! But they're not :\ So let's just take a minute to envy the bottle:

Hits Mari Moon So Unique with BPS Zebra Striped Nail Vinyls

I then used Formula X in Perfection with Born Pretty Store's Zebra Nail Vinyls (provided for review) to make the stripes.

The vinyls come in a pack of 12: 6 wavy vinyls and 6 zebra vinyls. I found the vinyls hard to separate from each other so a few of them got a little ripped, but not ruined.  I laid the first vinyl down on my middle finger, painted over it with Perfection, peeled it off, and got a very nice and clean zebra stripe.

Since the set came with only 6 zebra vinyls, I thought I would just reuse some of them, which I did on my ring finger.  As you can see, this resulted in a less crisp stripe. I already committed to doing all of my nails zebra, so I tried my best to have the second-use vinyls transfer well.

Hits Mari Moon So Unique with BPS Zebra Striped Nail Vinyls

The result? IRL you don't really see the messy ones.  But now I know that to have perfect images you should not reuse them.  If you buy one pack it would be best for accent nails or including the wavy designs into your mani.

Overall, I do like the vinyls, there are a few other styles to choose from as well. If you are interested in buying anything from BPS, I have a 10% off code CHUK31, click on the pic below to take you to their site:

KBShimmer Bahama Drama with Mundo De Unas Gold Floral Stamping

KBShimmer Bahama Drama with Mundo De Unas Gold Floral Stamping

Eeeeee I love my nails today!!! KBShimmer Bahama Drama is the lovely peachy coral base color, a bleached neon.

KBShimmer Bahama Drama with Mundo De Unas Gold Floral Stamping

I love Bahama Drama so much since my sunset gradient that I had to do another manicure with it. Is it more crazy that I'm actually using a nail polish more than one time, or that most of my polishes I have only used once?

KBShimmer Bahama Drama with Mundo De Unas Gold Floral Stamping

I stamped using Mundo de Unas Gold, a PERFECT metallic gold stamping polish, Pueen Plate 93 from PUEEN Set 24B-L: Leisure Stamping Buffet Set, and my Creative Shop stamper.

KBShimmer Bahama Drama with Mundo De Unas Gold Floral Stamping

I think these turned out so well because this MdU gold polish is, like, the BEST stamping polish I have ever tried. You MUST get it. It beautifully reflects and glows in the light. It is the shiznit.  I can't wait to try the silver! *squeals*

Teal Nails with BPS Holo Polish and Stamping

Teal Nails with BPS Holo Polish and Stamping

Hello all! I have a review here of Born Pretty Store's Holographic Nail Polish 12# which is a deep teal holo polish.  I had a hell of a time capturing the gorgeous deep teal essence of this polish, but as you can see in my pics there is a lot of linear holo rainbows going on!

Teal Nails with BPS Holo Polish and Stamping

The polish comes in a 6ml mini bottle, which made it slightly difficult to apply, but the polish itself went on smoothly.  I used Nfu Oh Aqua Base as the base coat and 3 coats of the holo polish to avoid any sheerness.  I then stamped using Mundo de Unas Spring Green, Pueen Plate 75 from PUEEN Set 24B-L: Leisure Stamping Buffet Set, and my Creative Shop stamper.  Please excuse my spotty stamping, it was late and I've abandoned it for a while, I need some more practice!

Teal Nails with BPS Holo Polish and Stamping

Overall I really like the polish, but I will comment on the price. I received a press sample in exchange for a review but on their website it retails at the moment for $7.73 and that is WITH a 40% discount, which seems like a lot for a 6 ml mini polish. They do have ways to earn points that can be used towards purchases which would be helpful towards some of their more pricey products.

I have a 10% off code CHUK31 for Born Pretty Store, click on the pic below to take you to their site:

Born Pretty Store 10% off code CHUK31

I plan to do more stamping and less glitter soon because 1) easier to remove and 2) I have a ton of MdU polishes I'm itching to try.  TTYL :)

Polish Me Silly Peach Me A Lesson Thermal Swatches

Hello again everyone!! I will make a quick apology as to why I haven't been around much...I have two great reasons tho: 1) I had surgery last week, nothing serious, really awesome actually, I had the otoplasty done that I've wanted ever since I was a kid, and 2) I came down with the flu shortly thereafter.  So I've been recovering and frankly very lazy.  I have barely changed my nails (GASP!) but whatevs it's my blog, I'm a grown ass woman, and I do what I want :)

ONWARD TO NAILS.

Polish Me Silly Peach Me A Lesson Thermal Swatches

Today I am wearing Polish Me Silly Peach Me A Lesson, a gorgeous pastel crelly filled with peach, pink, and orange glitters of various sizes, and the best part: pink when cold and peach / coral when warm! Thermals are my FAVE, it's like having a different manicure at any given time of the day, depending on the temperature of your hands.  As you can see, the nails were mostly pink meaning my hands were nice and warm so I had to hold a piece of ice to get the tips to change to peach. And my favorite picture below hardly shows the shift because I didn't catch it in time, dang it.

Polish Me Silly Peach Me A Lesson Thermal Swatches

And lastly, if you haven't entered my One Year Blogiversary Giveaway yet, today is the last day so head on over to my last post to enter before midnight tonight, good luck!

That is all for today. Until next time...
